Artificial Grass For Hockey Pitches
Since the 1970s, field hockey has been played on synthetic turf all over the world, from school and club matches all the way up to full internationals and even Olympic events.
EasigrassTM Sport has witnessed the rise in popularity of the sport firsthand, advising on and installing countless artificial hockey pitches over the last 20 years. We provide a range of high quality hockey products to suit any budget, including fully synthetic water‐based international level pitches tested to the International Hockey Federation’s performance standards.
Our pitches have been designed to allow players to bring their A game and produce free‐flowing and fast hockey without worrying about underfoot conditions.
Low Maintenance, Low Cost
Keeping any natural grass pitch playable is hard work, particularly in the heat and humidity of the UAE. It requires a huge amount of time, energy, and money to ensure the pitch is fit for purpose.
Artificial grass on the other hand only requires a minimal amount of maintenance to retain its quality. This level of maintenance is both affordable and effective, meaning fewer man hours spent tending to the pitch, and lower costs associated with labour, equipment, and water.
And while the initial outlay for the installation of an artificial hockey turf system will be higher than that of a real grass pitch, these costs will be significantly offset by reducing the previously mentioned maintenance costs.
Play More Field Hockey
Unlike natural grass fields, artificial hockey pitches can be played on all year round without falling foul to the weather. With superior drainage, they absorb water without flooding, and the harsh Dubai sunshine won’t damage the surface. All in all, these pitches remain in prime match condition 365 days a year, rain or shine. Say goodbye to cancelled training sessions and rescheduled fixtures.
Book More Matches
If you run a sports centre, or manage the sports facilities at a school or local authority, then installing an artificial grass hockey pitch is a terrific opportunity to increase revenue for your organisation.
Typically, these pitches are installed as multisport surfaces, meaning you can book in hockey and football games on the same surface without compromising the quality of the pitch. As the grass can withstand more sport than real grass, and more playable surfaces equates to more people being able to play, you can confidently take more bookings.

Project Objective
Bristol GS hockey pitch is shared with Firebrands Hockey club. The old surface was replaced with a new insitu pad and Rhino-Turf HF18 hockey surface. The pitch has been tested to FIH National and performs to the same standards as an FIH Global field. The surface features a red surround, highlighting the playing surface. The contract was installed by Sports Surface Solutions on behalf of main contractor Verde Recreo.
International Hockey Federation Accredited Surfaces
The International Hockey Federation (FIH) is very involved in the development of artificial turf for the top level of its sport. Water‐free synthetic turf is preferred for competitive games, while multi‐sport turf has been used for lower levels.
We ensure all of our turf meets and exceeds the global FIH competitive level performance criteria.
High Performance Sports Solutions from Easigrass
Our artificial turf systems are ideal for high performance sports such as field hockey, and we’re confident they can outperform even the best real grass pitches anywhere in the world.
If you play or manage field hockey games, you’ll know just how rough and tumble competitive matches can become. Our artificial pitch is specifically designed for the tough tackling, high impact aspects of the sport. The synthetic grass we use is soft, and thanks to a shock pad layer beneath the pitch we can significantly reduce the likelihood of impact injuries during a game.
Our range of products are fully tested and approved, exceeding the quality and performance standards set by the sport’s governing body.
